Saturday Reading

It’s the weekend!!🙌❤️ This weekend’s #puppyandcurrentlyreading is The Sun Down Motel, and it turns out that @bookmarkedbyal is reading it too, so I’ve gotten to chat with her.

Sun Down Motel is another one that is living up to the hype.

This is the kind of novel that begs to be read at one in the morning, under the covers, with a flashlight in your hand, and surrounded by your dogs so you feel safe. Sleep is something you might find optional while reading this book. So far, the breakneck pacing is backed up by a sensation of constant dread which creates a keep-you-guessing air that’s simply magnetic...and I’m still guessing!

Sadly I didn’t manage my my library books well and had to return this book yesterday when I was only at page 108. On the bright side, our bookstore had a copy I could buy, and continue reading.

But something isnʼt right at the motel, something haunting and scary. Upstate New York, 2017. Carly Kirk has never been able to let go of the story of her aunt Viv, who mysteriously disappeared from the Sun Down before she was born. She decides to move to Fell and visit the motel, where she quickly learns that nothing has changed since 1982. And she soon finds herself ensnared in the same mysteries that claimed her aunt.
