Itโ€™s been ages since Iโ€™ve posted a YSR (you should read) and TBR. I actually think my last one was over the summer. Yikes!

The Book of Longings is an emotional story of Ana (Jesusโ€™s wife) told in the first-person. This story is not an attempt to rewrite history. Instead itโ€™s an exploration of a strong spirited woman who yearns to share her story and the stories of other women along with the injustices they must endure. Anaโ€™s spirit vibrates off every page, and pulled at my heartstrings and soul. This book is a top three read of 2020 for me.

Anxious People: Iโ€™m a huge Backman fan and cannot rave enough about his latest book. This story focuses on how a shared event, centered around a group of extremely anxious strangers who find they have more in common than they ever imagined can change the course of multiple peopleโ€™s lives even in times of deep and ongoing anxiousness. A story that had me laughing out loud and then reaching for the nearest Kleenex.

Dear Edward is at once a transcendent coming-of-age story, a multidimensional portrait of an unforgettable cast of characters, and a breathtaking illustration of all the ways a broken heart learns to love again.

Caste: Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings.
