The Counterclockwise Heart is an imaginative and wonderful middle grade read full of heart.

I really enjoyed getting to know a diverse cast of characters, getting sucked in to their lives, adventures, and personal growth.

I also just loved the magical parts of the story. Now, this story isn’t just a cute and fun adventure. It also takes on some darker topics including grief, violence and death. I really liked how Farrey wove both the light and dark aspects into this book, but not once did I think it became too heavy for the targeted audience.

What I truly appreciated the most was how Farrey created a story that teaches tolerance, compassion, and to always learn the truth for yourself.

Overall this is a thought-provoking and enthralling story with rich and complex characters. It is truly a story that will capture the hearts and minds of all ages.
