From the ambiance, to the lush and devastating history, to an absolutely gripping plot, I could not stop turning the pages. Then, add in a bit of magic that feels so real and part of everyday life, and you have the perfect story to curl up with this fall.

I also loved the underlying theme of found sisterhood that infused the story with light, hope and at times humor.
