The Tattooist of Auschwitz

The Tattooist of Auschwitz

Wow! What a powerful book. I won’t lie…This book took me awhile to read. Not because it wasn’t good (it was great), but because of how powerful and true this story was. I just had to digest it in pieces.

Believing he was saving his family by offering himself up to be taken to Auschwitz-Birkenau to work, Lale finds himself forced to permanently mark new arrivals to the camp. One of them just might be the reason he finds the strength to stay alive and fall in love.

This story is heartbreaking, beautiful, horrifying, and healing all at once, and every bit of it was perfect.

I loved the short chapters, and I loved that this book is based on real people. Who knew someone would actually find love in the most awful of places?

Morris alone did a fantastic job drawing me into these characters and their stories, but factor in that these are real people, real events, and it's impossible not to feel even more attached to them.

I highly, highly recommend this book. It packs a lot into just 260 pages, but it's done brilliantly.

Have you read 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘻? What are your thoughts?
