The Therapist

The Therapist

The Therapist is an excellent psychological thriller full of twists that will have you questioning everything and everyone!

When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in The Circle, a gated community of exclusive houses, it is everything they’ve dreamed of. But appearances can be deceptive…

As Alice is getting to know her neighbors, she discovers a devastating secret about her new home, and begins to feel a strong connection with Nina, the therapist who lived there before.

Alice becomes obsessed with trying to piece together what happened two years before. But no one wants to talk about it. Her neighbors are keeping secrets and things are not as perfect as they seem…

What appealed to you most in the story?

I loved how immersed I felt throughout the story, but my attempts at solving the mystery, and all the red herrings were the best part. Seriously…I was addicted to finding out who was guilty and constantly changing my mind.

What was the audio like?

I alternated between the audio and reading (more like 80% audio). I absolutely loved the narration and different voices she used, and I found myself taking longer walks just because I was so caught up in the story. Plus I felt like listening to the story also heightened the suspense and drama.

How was the pace?

I loved quick pace of this story where the intensity steadily built from the beginning. The story held my attention (and breath at times) and kept me slightly on edge till the last page!

The chapters are also short, so that had me flying through the book.

Do you recommend this book?
