Last, Current, Next
Happy Saturday! Today I thought I would combine #CookieandCurrentlyReading with #LastCurrentNext since I havenโt done them in ages.
๐๐๐ฆ๐ง: I just finished reading The School For German Brides with my wonderful friend Heather and it was very good. It was a unique view for a WWII historical fiction book, and I couldnโt put it down. Iโll post my full review on Monday, but I can tell you now that I already recommend it!
In this intriguing historical novel, a young woman who is sent to a horrific "bride school" to be molded into the perfect Nazi wife finds her life forever intertwined with a young Jewish woman about to give birth
๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ก๐ง: Iโm currently switching back and forth between reading and listening to The Bloomsbury Girls. This is a slow burn, character driven, historical fiction story set after WWII. Iโm only about halfway through and hoping it picks up a bit more.
A compelling and heartwarming story of post-war London, a century-old bookstore, and three women determined to find their way in a fast-changing world. Pub 5/17
๐ก๐๐ซ๐ง: Iโm picking back up Mustique Island. Sadly, I had to set it down due to a lot of buddy reads I had recently, so Iโm excited to really get back into it. Also, Sarah McCoy is one of my favorite historical fiction authors and I always recommend her book, The Bakers Daughter.
A sun-splashed romp with a rich divorcee and her two wayward daughters in 1970s Mustique, the worldโs most exclusive private island, where Princess Margaret and Mick Jagger were regulars and scandals stayed hidden from the pressโฆ Pub 5/10
