Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my latest reads, adventures in travel, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Hysterectomy Update

Hysterectomy Update

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful first weekend in November, and that you got to enjoy your extra hour of sleep from the time change.

Before my hysterectomy I went book shopping and grabbed these two after all the amazing reviews I’ve been reading. I also figured that Riggs should get a feature since he matches these books perfectly.

First, I have to thank everyone for their prayers and messages. They have helped so very much!

I’m back home now from my hysterectomy. My husband drove us home on Friday and the trip went smoothly. If anything the seat in my car has been where I’ve found the most comfort for recovery pain.

The surgery itself went perfectly and my surgeon and her team at Mayo were amazing. They all had the best sense of humor and kept me from feeling nervous.

Right now I’m in the recovery period where I move slower than a turtle and work on keeping the pain manageable. As for what the pain is like...Basically just imagine having your worse cramps from your period and then a tiny bit more. Then everything in my body just feels heavy. I should note that I turned down stronger pain killers because they make me nauseous and dizzy.

On the bright side, we had to drive past a Crumbl Cookies during our travels for my surgery so of course I got some cookies to help with my recovery

I haven’t done any reading yet, but I’m starting Cloud Cuckoo Land with @thrillofthepage and In My Hands I Hold a Knife with @mamas_top_shelf this upcoming week.

AOTD: I’m not a fan since it takes our dogs so long to adjust, and it gets dark way too early.
