I should probably give y’all an update at this point as to what’s going on with my wonderful uterus and the fibroids. My phone consultation with a surgeon at Mayo went really well last week. I found out that on top of having imbedded fibroids I also have adenomyosis. This is when your endometrial tissue grows in the uterus’s muscular wall.

I am now moving on to my in person consultation with my personal surgeon this Thursday to discuss the type of hysterectomy I will have, and schedule the surgery. On the plus side, I am staying in Minneapolis to hang out, eat good food, and maybe do some shopping.

So, that is the latest update. I’ll do my best to share more as things progress. I’m still surprised by how common all this is for women, so hopefully I can pass on more information and educate y’all in case you find yourself in the same position.
