A Far Wilder Magic

A Far Wilder Magic

An interesting survival story that brings two very opposite characters together in a dangerous hunt involving dark magic.

In addition to an atmospheric story that fully transported me to a different world, I appreciated characters that are extremely compelling and endearing. They are flawed and so very real in their youth, yet try their best to overcome obstacles as they begin to work together.

This story is cast as a fantasy, but it felt like a dystopian story since the world building seems to be set in our modern times. Along with references to our own world, including the Pope.

Jesse Vilinsky did a wonderful job narrating the story! She did an amazing job at creating voices for each character and definitely got the subtle magic, dark forest atmosphere vibes down perfectly. I’d recommend going the audiobook route if you can since it helps pick up the pace of the story.
