Becoming the Boogeyman is the unsettling, dark and highly anticipated sequel to Chasing the Boogeyman.

What appealed to you the most in this story?

I’m not typically someone who gets hooked into true crime easily but I knew I would since I loved Chasing the Boogeyman so much. And man is this second book even better! The stakes are higher, and the nightmares become even more horrifically real. Chizmar has a way of perfectly blending real life and emotions with the macabre to create a tension filled story set in a town full of angry, grieving and scared citizens looking to point the finger and unleash their own form of justice. I also loved the added bonus of pictures of the places, victims, murder scenes that made the story even more real and ramped up the intensity of the story.

How was the pace?

This was a slow burn story that builds tension in the fashion of true crime (brutal murders included) with a fabulous addition of a horror element.

Do you recommend this book?

I enjoyed everything about this book as it is a perfect blend of horror and true crime. So, if you are looking for a chilling read that keeps you wondering who the real monsters are, then you have got to grab a copy pronto!
