It’s definitely winter here so it’s time to break out the big comfy comforter, a latte and some black and white cookies I made for Hanukkah.

❄️Yesterday I finished 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 and there is now way any review I write will do it justice. It is a brilliantly complex and tumultuous tale about possibilities, motherhood, midwifery, rape, justice, bravery and so much more. The story and characters captured my emotions from the very beginning and held on to them till the very end.

Today I’m guessing @mamas_top_shelf and I will finish our reread for 𝗔𝗖𝗢𝗪𝗙. I have just loved rereading this series because it feels like the first time reading it since I have forgotten basically all of it. Kind of thinking at this point I might need a head scan.

I’m also starting 𝗪𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗢𝗳 𝗢𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 today. This is December’s pick for the @readwithjenna book club! It looks like quite an interesting and unique take on a World War II story.

Up next I’m reading 𝗦𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗻 with @jennyw_reads and 𝗜𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 with @thesubstitutelibrarian and I can’t wait!

As soon as I created a post about what I was currently reading (see above) I immediately decided I wanted to add a romcom into the mix, so I picked up Finally Mine, and ended up finishing it Sunday afternoon.

Here is my mini review that I posted on Goodreads:

I just love picking up Lucy score book when I need a steamy romance to lose myself in! They are always guaranteed to be fast paced, full of dynamic characters, serious topics and definitely laughter. I will say that this book had a lot of repeat in it from the first book in the series, since it took place in the exact same timeline. This was the only detractor from the story, as I kind of found myself skimming those repetitive parts.

For dinner I made Garlic Butter Chicken Marsala Meatballs from Half Baked Harvest and loooovvvveeeedddd them!

I’m a huge fan of mushrooms so this recipe was definitely right up my alley from the beginning!

This dish was so flavorful and I know I’m going to be making it again soon!

It has been such a beautiful and peaceful Hanukkah this year. As you know, I did a little light baking and that was about it. Each night I’ve enjoyed, just having the candles lit while sitting and reading.

Sunday

With the colder temperatures this weekend really has been all about puppy snuggles, and Riggs is always the first one to snuggle up.

I have also been devouring my bagels and locks that were sent as a Hanukkah gift from Ess-a-Bagel. Their bagels have been my favorite for decades, and all their different spreads are so flavorful!

Our temperatures got up to 35°, so I was able to go outside and do a couple laps around town. Unfortunately, I got bit by a little dog again. It’s always the same little dogs in our town that are allowed to roam out of their yard that are also quite aggressive and protecting what they think is their territory. Y’all know that I am a complete dog lover, so I don’t blame the dog, but I do blame the owner.

But the sites during my walk were beautiful after our recent snow.

I also started listening to a new audiobook, and I cannot rave about this story enough already! Each character is so quirky, but with serious layers, and I can’t wait to see where their journey together goes.
