I was obsessed with all the layers within this story, but especially with the suspense and building romance. I found myself always a little bit on the edge of my seat wondering about Rhodesโs and Ansonโs pasts and wondering who was currently threatening Rhodes.
AND the foster animals!?! Absolutely melt my heart!!

With the suspense, Anson became so protective and needing to be there for Rhodes, so of course with a bit of forced proximity, the steam started coming off of the pages. I literally could not put this book down just from the budding romance alone.

The first half was steady/slow burn and the second half of the book was fast paced.

Itโs annual doggie checkup and shots for Kate and Riggs. Kate is happy as a lark and visiting with everyone, while Riggs is shaking like a leaf in my lap.
They had a great checkup, and we headed out for a hike before the snowstorm tomorrow.
