Sadly Our Given History just wasn’t for me but really did have promise.

What to expect:

• Friends to Lovers

• Second Chance

• Dual Timeline for part of the story

How was the romance?

There really was no romance till over halfway through the book, and it was kinda bland without any chemistry, angst, banter or building romance. They just sorta decided to try being together again.

I also really don’t understand why they couldn’t be together in the first place.

How was the pace?

Slow burn/character driven

Most of the time it felt like there was more unnecessary filler/details that took away from the storyline and made me loose interest. I think this also lead to feeling like nothing actually happened and my inability to connect with Clara’s character.

I also didn’t like how there were random time jumps throughout the story that didn’t flow and had me trying to figure out what time period I was just transported to.

I’m thinking that having Teddy’s POV would have helped the pace and story a lot.
