Things We Left Behind
I am so not ready for the Knockemout series to end! Is there a way to force Lucy Score to continue a series? I just cannot let these characters go! I have loved watching their growth, romances, adventures, absolute hilarious moments and so much more. Even the supporting characters were a blast and I wanted to adopt them as my friends. Ugh! Can we put together a petition or something?
What appealed to you the most in this story?
Things We Left Behind is now my new favorite in this series, and that is saying a lot since I could not get enough of the last two books and flew through all 500+ pages of them in no time (this pretty much happens with all her books…I swear she makes reading a chunkster feel like only 250 pages) So, of course I enjoyed everything about this book! From the character growth and discovery to the suspense and serious moments that deal with trauma, grief, and difficult pasts, I was just held hostage by it all in such a good way. However, what really had me falling in love with this story was the return of an epic cast of characters and found family. As a whole, they were the heart, soul, and glue that held the series together and supported the main characters. They also brought some amazing humor and laugh out loud moments that had me rolling.
How was the romance?
I loved this slow burn enemies to lovers romance and all the steam, humor, tension and snarky banter that came with it!
Steam level: Open door and blew the hinges right off!
How was the pace?
Holy smokes! This is one chunky book that clocks in at close to 600 pages and I flew through it in no time. Honestly, this book hooks you from the very first paragraph and doesn’t let you go. I’m so glad I got to read this whole series with my Bookstateer ladies, Kaley and Tonya.
Do you recommend this book?
YES! If you haven’t read this book or series, you better start now!!
