Hi.

Things We Hide From the Light

Things We Hide From the Light

I absolutely loved Things We Never Got Over and I of course did my happy dance the second Things We Hide From the Light landed in my mailbox!

What appealed to you the most in this story?

I enjoyed pretty much everything about this book! From the character growth and discovery to the suspense and serious moments that deal with trauma, PTSD, and difficult pasts, I was just held hostage by it all in such a good way. However, what really had me falling in love with this story was the return of an epic cast of characters and found family. As a whole, they were the heart, soul, and glue that held the story together and supported the main characters. They also brought some amazing humor and laugh out loud moments that had me rolling.

How was the romance?

I loved this slow burn enemies to lovers romance and all the steam, humor, tension and snarky banter that came with it! I did have some issues with Nash’s over the top grumpy “alpha” male attituded (the main reason you see mixed reviews). He was just so different in this book compared to the last, but then he did go through something very serious that caused trauma and PTSD. However, I did appreciate his character growth and how no one in the book turned away from him because of everything he was going through.

Steam level: Open door and spicy!

How was the pace?

Holy smokes! This is one chunky book that clocks in at over 500 pages and I flew through it in just a few days. Honestly, this book hooks you from the very first paragraph and doesn’t let you go. I’m so glad I got to read this with my Bookstateer ladies, Kaley and Tonya. As always, we had a lot of fun and opinions as we read!

Do you recommend this book?

YES, and the next book in this series Things We Left Behind comes out on 9/5/2023!

Thank you, Bloom Books, for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.
