Lenny Marks Gets Away With Murder is a heartfelt and at times dark debut about a neurodivergent woman dealing with her repressed and traumatic experiences when she was young, while finding herself having to work outside her comfort zone in order to find answers.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆?

From the very beginning I was rooting for Lenny’s character and all her introverted social awkwardness. As the story unfolded I really enjoyed seeing her character evolve into a true heroine as more of her past comes to light.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸?

I alternated between the audiobook and physical copy, and Annie Maynard of course brought Lenny’s Character to life. I even found myself reading with her voice in my head when I wasn’t listening to the audio.

Beginning is slow burn but then picks up to a steady pace.

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸?

Overall, this was an enjoyable character driven story, and I found myself completely enmeshed in Lenny‘s life. Also, I still can’t get over that this is a debut!
