Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books

Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books was a bingeable delight and needs to be on everyone’s summer reading list!

When I read a quick blurb for this book, it described it as being a satire for banned books. However, the story really hits the nail on the head for the banning epidemic we have going on nationwide and shines a much needed spotlight on it.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆?

Everything in this story sucked me in and held onto my emotions, but the full cast of characters was where it was at. Each chapter focuses on a different character and what they are going through and a bit of their past, so as the story progresses, you begin to see a bigger picture of the dynamics and the people that make up this small southern town. And trust me when I say that each character is going to get your emotions going in different ways.

I also completely loved the angle which Miller used through books to educate the ignorant who were racist, anti-Semites, homophobic, and other prejudices that we see in our world daily.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲?

I completely binged this book in less than 24 hours. It was one of those stories where I just had to find out how all the craziness, drama, and more would play out.

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸?

Overall this is a story about hope and how we can still work to help others become their better selves. Truly a story everyone will fall in love with.
