The Banned Books Club & Currently
The Banned Books Club is an emotionally complex and insightful story that takes on real life issues.
What appealed to you the most in this story?
I really enjoyed how from the very beginning I was emotionally drawn into the lives of both sisters as they dealt with past and current traumas.
How was the pace:
Alternates between fast paced and steady
What to expect:
Multiple POV
Family drama๏ปฟ๏ปฟ
Small town scandals
Past trauma
Emotional Abuse
A bit of romance
๐ฅSteam level: Open door but no descriptions
Do you recommend this book?
If you enjoy family and small town dramas that take on past lies and traumas along with a dose of healing, then this one is for you!
*On a side note, I feel like I should mention that this title doesnโt really speak to what this book is about. There was next to no discussion of banned books and only brief moments moments when the โBanned Book Clubโ met, but no real discussions as a group or incorporation of the harm from banning books. Basically, banned/banning books did not play a part in the plot.
Thank you Mira for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest opinions.
Currently
I had a swing by the library this afternoon to return some books so of course that means I need to check out more!
Iโm not baking anything up today or probably tomorrow since there are a few oatmeal cookies left from last week. However, Iโm craving pumpkin cinnamon rolls. So I guess weโll see.๐
