Meet Me In Bombay
Last summer Jenny and I read ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ ๐ ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ together when it first came out and tomorrow it is released in paperback! Below is my previous review.
This is a lush, lovely, and often gut-wrenching historical romance about two lovers torn apart by WWI. Set in exotic Bombay, this story kept me rapt throughout as Ashcroftโs storytelling held me and my emotions in the palm of her hand till the very last page.
This is a book that tempted me to flip to the end to see what was going to happen. I almost did it too! Thankfully, I stopped myself, and continued to be swept away in the mystery right up till the last page.
This historical fiction story is set in pre and post WWI India and France. I was immediately immersed in the romance story of Luke and Maddy along with the vibrant Bombay setting. Really, I could not get over Ashcroftโs vibrant imagery. I found myself swept away to the beautiful Bombay landscape, scents, sounds and horrid humidity. She really is a master of molding together place, time, and feeling.
Overall, this is a masterfully written story with complex characters, and a beautiful love story. This is such a compelling story and it will stay with you long after you have turned the final page.
Sunday Night
We had such a fun and relaxing Sunday night after baseball open gym. I made Half-Baked Harvestโs Giant Sโmores Stuffed Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie. I did make a change and turned it into just a regular cookie by taking out the marshmallows and graham crackers. As you can see from the picture below it came out perfect!
This is about our fifth time making this cookie skillet and itโs always a winner and super easy!
For our movie it was The Adam Project. Web and I are huge fans of Ryan Reynolds so we have been anticipating this movie. It was absolutely amazing and one I already want to watch again so we highly recommend it!
Monday
Itโs a cloudy day here but itโs going to be a warmer week with highs above freezing every day and we even get up to 50ยฐ one day! maybe there is hope for spring after all.
Today Iโm at home getting some work done and maybe a little spring cleaning.
For dinner tonight Iโm making Sheet Pan Chicken Gyros with Sweet Potato French Fries. This is a paper in our house and I wanted to try the version from Half-Baked Harvest.
hope yโall have a wonderful Monday!
