Happy Saturday y’all!! I’m kicking off my weekend with @mamas_top_shelf and we have already picked up another book to read together. Lately we’ve had a string of bad luck when it comes to our buddy read books. Last night we started No Exit by Taylor Adams, and it looks like our streak of not so good reads is broken!!

Holy smokes is this book a whirlwind roller coaster ride that I can’t put down. Both Kaley and I fought to stay awake last night and read it all.

This story had me on edge from the very beginning. I started with the audiobook and was literally sitting on the edge of the driver seat, white knuckling the steering wheel as the tension in the story kept ratcheting up. Once I got home I dove into my library copy. At one point I actually checked my Fitbit and realized my heartbeat was way higher than it should be while sitting. I swear each twist and turn along with the shocks and surprises kept upping my heart rate.

If you are looking for a book that is a nonstop thrill ride than this one’s for you!

On a closing note - Highway rest stops are out of the question for the foreseeable future for me.
💬What are you having for breakfast this morning?

𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: On her way to Utah to see her dying mother, college student Darby Thorne gets caught in a fierce blizzard in the mountains of Colorado. With the roads impassable, she’s forced to wait out the storm at a remote highway rest stop. Inside are some vending machines, a coffee maker, and four complete strangers. Desperate to find a signal to call home, Darby goes back out into the storm . . . and makes a horrifying discovery. In the back of the van parked next to her car, a little girl is locked in an animal crate.

Who is the child? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her?

There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, and no way out. One of her fellow travelers is a kidnapper. But which one?

Trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation, with a child’s life and her own on the line, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape.

But who can she trust?
