Strange Sally Diamond
Strange Sally Diamond is an absolutely twisted and crazy story that I didn’t want to put down! So glad I had Kaley to read this with, as we both had a lot to discuss with character evolutions and jaw dropping situations.
What appealed to you the most in this story?
I was hooked by the utter uniqueness of this story, and have never read anything similar. Somehow Nugent was able to create a realistic character in Sally, yet keeping her personality unique and still full of emotion. I love how Sally understood her limited capabilities with emotion and personal connections due to her traumas, and somehow her positive and negative attitudes still came to create an engrossing and actually very touching story.
I also really liked the very unique ending, and I’ll leave it at that.😜
How was the pace?
I was surprised by how fast I flew through this story and could’ve easily binged it if life didn’t keep getting in the way. In the beginning, I thought this was going to be a heavy and slow story due to the disturbing content, but there were upbeat and humorous moments woven in to help create the faster pace, and that levity also had me rooting for Sally’s character in every interaction she had.
Do you recommend this book?
This was a very real, raw, dark, and at times disturbing story. It weaves together multiple genres: mystery, thriller, family drama, which combine to make an immersive story where you can’t turn the pages fast enough. Definitely recommending this gripping tale, and it’s perfect for spooky season!
