I was so excited to pick up this book the second it arrived on my doorstep! McMillan is truly a gifted writer when it comes to historical fiction, and after reading The London Restoration last year I was thrilled to return to her masterful writing. The Mozart Code is set right after World War II and into the Cold War. Her research is meticulous and her skill with atmospheric writing is like none other.

From the very beginning I was swept away to Vienna, Prague, and the devastating post-war landscape. The plot is extremely exciting and gripping as it slowly builds, and there's enough espionage, suspense, twists, and romance to appeal to readers of any genre. From the very beginning I could not tear myself away from this plot-driven story.

This is the perfect book to curl up and lose yourself in over a weekend. You too will find yourself transported to McMillan’s world of secret codes, betrayal, and intrigue!
