The Perfect Couple

The Perfect Couple

What a wild ride this story was! The Perfect Couple is a gripping story that went in several directions that I never could have predicted.

The perfect couple…or the perfect lie?

A year and a half ago, Gemma met the love of her life, Danny. Since then, their relationship has been like something out of a dream. But one Friday evening, Gemma returns home to find Danny is nowhere to be seen.

After two days with no word from her husband, Gemma turns to the police. She is horrified with what she discovers – a serial killer is on the loose in Bristol. When she sees the photos of the victims she is even more stunned…the victims all look just like Danny.

But, the detectives aren’t convinced by Gemma’s story. Why has no one apart from Gemma seen or heard from Danny in weeks? Why is there barely a trace of him in their flat? Is she telling them the truth, or are there more secrets and lies in this marriage than meets the eye?

I’m a huge fan of mysteries and thrillers that have multiple points of view. I like being able to see the different angles as I try to work out the ins and outs and who’s the guilty party. In this book the story alternates between Gemma and the detectives on the case. Therefore, as I got deeper into the story more and more things started coming out about Danny and Gemma, I found myself looking for red herrings as I was trying to figure out the truth. Was Danny a victim? Is he really missing? Is Gemma an unreliable narrator?

The Perfect Couple is quite the bingeable read, so if you’re someone who enjoys domestic suspense, police procedurals, or just looking for a suspenseful read, definitely check this book out.

Thank you HarperCollins, One More Chapter, and TLC Tours for the gifted copy of this book!
