The Vanishing Half
Since I’m late to the party with reading this book, I’m going to keep this review short.

The Vanishing Half is such a compulsive, well written and thought provoking story, and I cannot recommend it enough.
The story centers around twin sisters from Louisiana living in two very different worlds, each on their own journey. The book then expands across decades to tell the story of how Stella and Desiree are forever linked even when they’re apart.
This book was nothing short of spectacular. The story is riveting and slightly suspenseful, and Bennett manages to impart a sense of impending doom and the possibility of hope throughout the entire story.
I loved how I felt fully immersed in each character’s story line, and was drawn into seeing how their story would unfold. This was such a timely read on racial injustice.
Both Jenny and I found the ending different but satisfying and logical. We are hoping there may be a sequel in the works!
This was my first time reading a book by Brit Bennet, and I can’t wait to read more by her. She is such a beautiful writer and storyteller, as she brings this multi-generational story to life.
