It’s the weekend!! We now have two days off from baseball (after having games every day since Sunday) before Web’s American Legion tournament starts on Monday, so my butt is gonna be parked at the pool trying to stay cool as we get hit with highs in the upper 90s🥵

This month @jennyw_reads and I picked 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 to read together. It’s based on a true story (see synopsis below). It is quite the unique and slow burn story and I love the setting. My only complaint is that the story itself just doesn’t have emotion to pull you in and this makes the story just drag on for the second half of the book. The same goes for the lead character, Hedy, and she is going through a lot as a Jewish woman working for the Germans. I only have 50 pages left and should finish today.
