And There He Kept Her
Holy smokes! Talk about a dark, creepy, suspenseful and captivating debut story! This is the perfect thriller to binge read, and it will keep you on edge and holding your breath till the end.
I’m keeping this review short, because I will give something away if I really get into all the reasons I loved and flew through this book. Plus, this is one of those books that is best to go into blind.
When Deputy Sheriff Ben Packard investigates the disappearance of two teenagers in Sandy Lake, Minnesota, he comes face to face with the ugly and deranged.
This is truly one of those true crime books that hooks you from the very beginning and won’t let you go till you turn the last page. The characters are vivid and complex, and Moehling has a way with writing scenery that transports you not only visually but emotionally too. I could feel the fear leaching out of me as I read.
And There He Kept Her is a sharp and intense thriller that tells a fast-paced dark story. Overall, an absorbing and very impressive debut. Now…Is this the beginning of a new series?…I sure hope so, because I can’t wait to read more of Ben Packard’s life at Sandy Lake!
