The Game
The Game is one of those heart pounding stories that takes the word “gripping” to all new levels…Interpretation: I was literally white-knuckle gripping my book as I read!
What appealed to you the most in this story?
The story itself captivated me from the beginning and I could not put it down. Just the cinematic style (bring on the 90s horror/thriller movie style) and uniqueness of the plot had me hooked. I mean, tell me that this brief synopsis doesn’t have you wanting to pick this book up pronto:
Dear Player. The person you love most is in danger. To save them, you must play THE GAME. The rules are - there can only be one winner. If you lose, your loved one will die. All players enter alone. Do not share this message. Do not seek help - welcome to THE GAME
You know your heart just amped up a bit reading that, and my heart was pounding as I read about each player as they raced against time!
How was the pace?
The story kept a steady pace with a lot of fast-paced sections.
Do you recommend this book?
Talk about an excellent debut! If you are looking for a modern-day thriller that, has you on a twisted rollercoaster and suspense filled ride right up till then end, then you need to grab this book today.
A trigger/warning (possible spoiler about to happen): There are several triggers (suicide and sexual assault) in this story so you may want to look into them before reading. For me it was the death of a dog (death itself is not written about but the results from it are) and this death was also referred to throughout the book.
