Divine Rivals

Divine Rivals

I don’t know if you are like me, but I’m always on the lookout for a new series to fall in love with. After reading the synopsis for Divine Rivals, the first book in the Letters of Enchantment series, I could not pass up what I knew would be a beautifully written story with a romance about two journalists caught in a war between two gods.

What appealed to you the most in this story?

Ok…bear with my dorky butt for a second…This story had a bit of that “You’ve Got Mail” vibe with the lead MCs writing each other letters while only one knows the identity of the other. This had my geeky romantic self swooning and falling in love with not only the characters but also feeling all the emotions as they were going through in their own lives as they tried to find their way in the world of journalism while a war rages on around them.

Andrea, you don’t read dystopian very often, what made you want to pick it up?

You’re right! Dystopian is not usually my jam at all, but the way the synopsis was written had me wanting to dive into this fascinating world Ross created, and she blew me away with every aspect of the story. I loved the characters, and their interactions felt so real and intense along with the romance. Ross also balanced out the suspense, tension, and downright fear with comradery, witty banter, and happiness. The best part was that the world built in the story felt real and familiar to our own, and not once was I confused or felt like I was missing something.

How was the pace?

FAST! I binged this book in no time!

Do you recommend this book?

Yes! Come get hooked on this series with me and attempt to wait patiently for book two!

Thank you, Wednesday Books, for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.
