Hi.

Tilly in Technicolor

Tilly in Technicolor

I completely binged this book in a day! Tilly in Technicolor is a fantastic YA debut from Eddings about two nurodivergent teens, and is an absolute must read!

What appealed to you the most in this story?

I loved how the story was about 18 year old Tilly realizing that she was now in charge of herself, and starting to let go of expectations others have, including her own parents. This is no easy feat for any human being at that age. I know at that age I lived for the expectations others set for me instead of living to create my own future for myself.

I also loved how real Tilly’s character was. Tilly was unconventional, messy, and calls it as she sees it. I loved the additional layers of Tilly’s ADHD. This made her feel more real and raw, and Eddings wrote her character in a way that made me really and truly understand and grasp what having ADHD is like.

How was the romance?

This YA romance was just so sweet and I loved the slow burn. There was excellent humor, warmth, and lots of charming and witty banter between Tilly and Oliver. I was completely drawn into this book from the beginning and found myself heavily invested in the romance. Eddings really is a genius when it comes to sucking a reader’s emotions into a story, and I found myself laughing with the characters and also feeling nervous and anxious right with them.

Tropes:

How was the pace?

Did I mention I read this in a day!?!

Do you recommend this book?

I will forever recommend ANY book Mazey Eddings writes without hesitation!
