Sleeping Giants
Wow! I did not see this fantastic, emotionally haunting and layered story coming. Sleeping Giants is a mesmerizing story about loss and discovery set along the cold and at times unforgiving Oregon coast.
What appealed to you the most in this story?
I was blown away by how emotionally attached I became to the characters and their situations from the very beginning. Everything they were going through (especially Dennis) was very relevant and so meaningful, and even though I knew how part of the story played out (you learn in the very first chapter), I still found myself absorbed in the mystery and still hoping that magically things would change…and, that is how you know when you are enmeshed in a deeply moving book.
How was the pace?
This is a book that sucked me into the very pages as I kept turning the pages faster and faster.
Do you recommend this book?
I can’t believe I haven’t seen this book being talked about more! It is a story about darkness, but there is still so much hope to be found throughout the story.
Also, make sure you read the Author’s Note at the end. I really appreciated how Denfeld explained why she chose to address this hard topic and it so hard to fathom this type of thing continues to exist.
Thank you Harper for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest opinions.
