The suspense and the mystery. I was forced to live in the moment while reading and having absolutely no clue or even inkling of how everything was really going to come together and play out in the end.

I am so thankful that I went with the audio version. Karissa Vacker knocked it out of the park with her narration. She was able to ratchet up the tension and suspense even more, which kept me wanting more.

The audio is definitely the way to go! It helps pick up the pace for this very slow burn character driven story, with a lot of inner monologues and time reliving the past.
I got to buddy read this with @mamas_top_shelf and we had slightly varying opinions on this one, and I think some of it came down to the fact that she read it, and I listened to it.

Iโve been craving banana bread, so today I made Krolls Kronerโs new recipe.
It was super fast and easy to mix together, and it came out perfectly!
Dreadmill time was on the Middle Fork Trail in WA. I was on this trail a few years ago in real life and it was so peaceful and gorgeous.
I also came across an elk and its herd while on it.
Iโm still listening to Those Empty Eyes and it is so good. Grab it if you havenโt already.
