This year one of my main goals for reading is to read more debut authors. Last year I was just floored by the few debut books I read, and I’m already feeling the same this year.

I swear I didn’t plan it this way, but I’m currently reading two debut books that are both set in modern day Middle East. These books deal with the complexities of the counties they are set in (Iraq and Israel) as they tackle real life issues. They are moving, haunting, suspenseful, and I can’t put them down!

Thankfully I have my peppermint coffee this morning to keep me going, and boy am I gonna need it. We have a full day of driving and basketball ahead of us this afternoon. So, I’m diving into these books while I can this morning.

Both book come out on 2/5!!
