Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my latest reads, adventures in travel, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Pretend Your Mine

Pretend Your Mine

I have been working my way through Lucy Score’s backlist, and it has been the best experience! I know if I find myself in a slump or in need of some steamy, fast-paced entertainment with a side of real-life issues, I can pick up one of Score’s books and immediately loose myself in an epic and emotional story.

What appealed to you the most in this story?

Pretend Your Mine is the first book in the Benevolence series, and I already need to binge the rest of it! Just like in all her other books, I immediately fell in love with all the characters and how strong and resilient they were.

How was the romance?

The romance in the story had all the fun and snarky witty banter that I love along with some very serious moments revolving around childhood traumas. I did have some issues with Luke’s over the top grumpy “alpha” male attituded (the main reason you see mixed reviews), but I did appreciate his character growth and how everyone in the story called him out on it.

Trope: Fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, and single bed

Steam level: Open door and the hinges were blown off…pretty sure a wall went down with it!

How was the pace?

Like all of Score’s books, this is a chunky one, and I flew through it. Honestly, this book hooks you from the very first paragraph and doesn’t let you go.

Do you recommend this book?

This is this is a book I highly recommend diving into. Every aspect of this story will have you hooked from the beginning to the end and once you reach the end, you’re definitely not gonna want to let the characters go. You’ll find yourself, laughing, frustrated, yelling at characters, crying, and so much more. So go grab yourself a copy and get hooked just like me! Now I’m off to read book 2!
